Samuel Same (6'5" Edge from Derby, KS)
3 star Edge Rusher (DE/LB) Samuel Same becomes the 15th commit of the 2023 football recruiting class for Campbell and staff. He is a top 100 edge rusher in the class and one of the best players from the state of Kansas. Same chose ISU over Oregon State, Houston, Illinois and others.
Abu Sama (5'10" ATH from Des Moines, IA)
3 star athlete from Southeast Polk High School has committed to ISU. He plays defensive back and running back for the SEP rams. Sama ran for over 900 yards last season. He is a long jump state champ along with a football state champ, which brings a culture of winning to the Cyclones. He will run track and play football for the Cyclones.
Tashawn James (6'0" DB/S from Oklahoma City, OK)
Tashawn James is another great 3 star athlete the Cyclones have got a commitment from. James only had offers from UNI and Tulsa, but he had a great skill set and will be a great addition for the Cyclones in 2023.
Carson Hansen (6'1" RB from Lakeville, MN)
Carson Hansen is another great 3 star athlete that can play a range of positions for the Cyclones. He was a great RB in high school but it will be interesting to see what Matt Campbell and staff are able to do with his skillset in Ames. He chose ISU over Kansas State, Air Force and others.
Brendan Black (6'4" OL from Yulee, FL)
Brendan Black is a huge O-lineman who could be a staple in ISU's offensive line. He has good strength and size and a lot of schools across the country were interested in the Florida prospect. He had 20 offers including offers from Miami, Memphis and Louisville among others.
Kooper Ebel (6'3" ATH from Hartley, IA)
Ebel is another explosive athlete that stayed home and chose Iowa State. He could play in many different places for the Cyclones. Ebel is another in state commit as Campbell and the staff keep rolling with this 2023 class. Ebel chose the Cyclones over Iowa, Nebraska and others.
Jamison Patton (6'2" ATH from Des Moines, IA)

He runs around an 11 flat 100 meter dash and has a great frame for the Cyclones. Parkes also holds offers from Indiana, Mississippi State and others. He is a 4 star recruit and one of the better receivers in the whole class, and will look to complement JJ Kohl in Iowa State's Offense.
JJ Kohl (6'7" QB from Ankeny, IA)
Kohl is currently Iowa State's top recruit from the class. One of the best for Iowa State of the last decade, Kohl brings a superstar potential and a big build to the Cyclones. The class of 2023 QB chose Iowa State over Iowa, Nebraska, Florida State, Penn State and others. Kohl is rated a 4 star by both 247 Sports and ESPN.
4 Star Guard Jelani Hamilton has announced he has committed to ISU via social media. The 4 star and top 120 player in the nation chose ISU over Auburn, Alabama, LSU, Ole Miss, Virginia Tech, and others. This is a huge get for the Cyclones with hopefully even more to come with the rumblings of Omaha Biliew and others. He recently took his visit to ISU and here is his instagram post from his time in Ames:
Jelani seems to have a great connection with coach Otzelberger and also has a family connection with the team, as his brother works with the men's basketball team at Iowa State.
