2022 Iowa State Cyclone Basketball Recruiting

Here are the players that the Cyclones have shown initial interest in and offerred from the class of 2022 along with their ratings fromĀ  recruiting leader 247 Sports: (This list will continue to be updated with new recruits, etc.)

Committed:

Tamin Lipsey-PG (Ames, IA)

Lipsey, a 6-1 point guard from Ames, has received offers from Iowa State, Nebraska and most recently Minnesota. He has also received interest from 15+ other schools including Iowa and North Carolina. Lipsey has won a gold medal with the U16 USA National Team and also plays for multiple AAU teams including D1 Minnesota.

Eli King-G (Caledonia, MN )

King, from Caledonia High School in Minnesota, has just received an offer from the Cyclones. King is a multi sport athlete who plays on the D1 Minnesota AAU Basketball team, which is the same team as major Cyclone Target Tamin Lipsey.

Demarion Watson-F (Minneapolis, MN)

Watson, another Minnesota Native like Eli King was Iowa State's third commit of the 2022 Basketball class. He chose ISU over Vanderbilt and others.

Offerred

Gradey Dick-G/F (Witchita, KS)

Gradey Dick, a 6-7 wing at Sunrise Christian School, is receiving major interest as a top 50 player in his class. He has countless offers, the main offers being from Iowa State, Baylor, Kansas, Kansas State and Creighton. He also recently got offered from Texas A&M and has received interest from 20+ schools.


Will Shaver-F (Birmingham, Al)

Shaver, an unrated recruit from Oak Mountiain High School, was received an offer and held a zoom visit with the Cyclones. The forward also has offers from UAB and Virginia Tech along with interest from Alabama, Auburn and others.



AJ Casey-G/F (Chicago, IL)

Casey, a 6-8 wing from Chicago, recently picked up a Cyclone offer to go along with offers from Depaul, Tulane and Illinois. The 24th ranked player in the class by 247 Sports also has interest from major schools including Kansas. Casey would be an amazing get for Prohm and staff.



Julian Phillips-G/F (Blythewood, SC)

Phillips has interest from around the country, with offers ranging from Alabama to Clemson to Kansas to the Cyclones. Phillips would be a tough get for the Cyclones with all the offers and interest around him, but keep Phillips in mind for Cyclone recruiting.



Prince Aligbe-G/F (Minneapolis, MN)

Aligbe, from basketball powerhouse Minnehaha High School, has interest from around the country, with offers from Illinois, Florida Iowa, Iowa State and lots more. Phillips would be another tough get for the Cyclones with all the offers and interest around him, but keep Phillips in mind for Cyclone recruiting.


Chris Bunch-G (Concord, CA)

Bunch, from De La Salle High School, has received offers from the Cyclones, Florida State, Creighton and others. The top 100 player in the class also has interest from quite a few other teams. The wing guard has great size at 6-6.



Isaac Traudt- F (Grand ISland, NE)

Traudt was recently offered by the Cyclones after a virtual visit. The top 100 prospect already has plenty of other offers including Wisconsin, Creighton and Drake. Look for the Cyclones to continue their involvement in the New England naive’s recruiting.




Ven-Allen Lubin-G/F (Orlando, FL)

Lubin is a currently unranked prospect at Orlando Christian Prep. Even without a rating, he has racked up offers from Alabama, Florida, St. Johns, Iowa State and more. Look for more interest and offers later for Ven Allen.



Fray Nguimbi-G/F (Orlando, Fl)

Nguimbi is a currently unranked prospect at West Oaks Academy in Orlando. Even without a rating, he has racked up three major offers from Alabama, Dayton and Iowa State. He also has plenty of offers from smaller division one schools. Look for more interest and offers later for Fray.



Gregg Glenn-F (Fort Lauderdale, FL)

Glenn, from Calvary Christian Academy, is another top recruit that the Cyclones have offered. Glenn also boasts offers from countless schools including Miami, LSU, Florida and Florida State. The top 40 recruit also was apart of a USA Youth Basketball National Team, winning a medal in 2019 with the U16 team.



Chauncey Wiggins-F (covington, GA)

Wiggins is another player yet to receive a 247 Sports rating but has definitely received interest and offers from schools across the country. Along with his ISU offer, he most recently got offered by Ole Miss along with Mississippi State and many others. 20+ teams have also reached out since June 15th.



Taylor Hendricks-F (Fort Lauderdale, Fl)

Hendricks, from Calvary Christian Academy, is another recruit that the Cyclones have offered. Glenn also boasts offers from countless schools including Miami, LSU, Florida and Florida State. He is a teammateĀ of Gregg Glenn, another Cyclone target they have offered.



Interested:

Chris Livingston-G (Hudson, OH)

Livingston, the third ranked player in the class who attends Western Reserve Academy, has received interest from Iowa State. The 6-5 Guard has already received offers from UAB, Ohio State and others. He also has interest from lots of power 5 teams. Livingston was a member on the gold medal winning U16 USA Basketball National Team.



Bruce Thornton-PG (Alpharetta, GA)

Thornton, a 6 foot guard from Georgia has heard from many schools. The Cyclones along with Texas, Alabama, and Purdue were just a few of the schools interested. The top 30 recruit also landed offers yesterday from Maryland and Auburn.




Eric Dailey JR-G/F (Bradenton, FL)

Dailey is yet another recruit the Cyclones reached out to on June 15th. Dailey stars at IMG academy, one of the best prep schools in the nation. Daily also has interest from Texas, Florida State and Miami. The top 30 player in the class holds offers from Florida and Texas A&M.



Camden heide-G/F (Minneapolis, MN)

Heide, a 4 star from Wayzata High School in Plymouth, Minnesota has received interest from Cyclones. The 6-5 small forward has received offers from Iowa, Arizona, Minnesota, Nebraska, and Purdue. This would be a huge get for the Cyclones if they were able to land Heide, who is a top 40 player in the class of 2022 and the number one player in Minnesota.



Carmelo Harris- G (Flint, Michigan)

Carmelo Harris is a guard from Beecher High School, the same high school as Iowa State great Monte Morris. Iowa State has shown interest along with Michigan State and other programs.

Ben Middlebrooks-F (Fort Lauderdale, FL)

Middlebrooks, an unrakned prospect from Westminster Academy in Florida has received interest from the Cyclones. Ben is yet another prospect the Cyclones have reached out to from Fort Lauderdale. The 6-8 forward has received offers from many schools, including top schools like Florida and Auburn.



Preston Murphy Jr-PG (Omaha, NE)

Preston Murphy, from St. Andrews High School in Omaha has been reached out to by the Cyclones. Murphy is currently rated as a 3 star by 247 Sports and barely falls within the their top 100, at the 99 ranking. Murphy has already received major offers from Clemson and Depual.



Amen Thompson- PG (Fort Lauderdale, FL)

Amen Thompson, a 6-5 Point Guard from Pine Crest School, is another recruit that the Cyclones have shown interest in. Thompson holds offers from Alabama, Florida Atlantic and USF. The guard also has interest from Memphis, Baylor, Depaul, VirginiaĀ Tech and many more. He is brothers with Ausar, another player the Cyclones have shown interest in.



AuSar THOMPSON- PG (FORT LAUDERDALE, FL)

Ausar Thompson, a 6-5 Combo Guard from Pine Crest School, is another recruit that the Cyclones have shown interest in. Thompson holds offers from Alabama, Florida Atlantic and USF. The guard also has interest from Memphis, Baylor, Depaul, VirginiaĀ Tech and many more. He is brothers with Amen, another player the Cyclones have shown interest in.



Chase Carter-F (Minneapolis, MN)

Multi Sport athlete Chase Carter at Minnehaha Academy has already secured a football offer from the Cyclones, but has also received basketball interest. Carter has basketball offers from Florida, West Virginia and others.




Elvis Nnaji-F (Hopkins, MN)

Nnaji, a 6-8 big man out of Hopkins High School in Minnesota has also been contacted by the Cyclones. Other schools have contacted him including Tennessee, Arizona, Marquette and Minnesota. He will play for a top AAU program in D1 Minnesota in this upcoming AAU season.

Jeffrey Brazziel-G (Milwaukee, WI)

Brazziel, a 6-4 Guard from Madison High School, has received interest from the Cyclones. He does not currently hold a power 5 offer, but has interest from top schools including Marquette and Wisconsin to go along with the Cyclones.



AJ Brown-G (Orlando, FL)

The Cyclones are the latest to show interest in Orlando guard AJ Brown. Other teams showing interest are Miami, Georgia and plenty of others. He currently holds offers from both USF and Hofstra. Brown also plays top level AAU ball for Nike EYBL.

Aidan Shaw-g/F (Stilwell, KS)

Shaw from Blue Valley High School is a very highly graded recruit in which the Cyclones are heavily recruiting. Shaw already boasts offers from Iowa, Oklahoma State and Missouri. Along with the Cyclones, the 6-7 Small Forward has also received interest from Kansas, Creighton, California and many others.



D’Ante Davis-SF (Indianpolis, IN)

Davis, a 6-6 small forward from Lawrence Central high school has received tons of attention on this initial day of recruiting and the Cyclones have been in contact. The 4 star recruit also has major interest from Louisville, Purdue, Ohio State and others.



Joe Hurlburt-F (Enderlin, ND)




Hurlburt, a 6-10 forward has received major interest from teams like ISU, Colorado, Memphis, Ohio State, Minnesota and Virginia. He is not currently ranked by recruiting sites, but expect a ranking to come soon.

Josh Duach-G (Austrailia)

Duach, a 6-6 guard from Austrailia has received interest from the Cyclones. He has played on multiple youth Australian national teams and has the ability to reclassify up to 2021. Other schools contacting are Bradley and South Alabama.

Tre Holloman-PG (Minneapolis, MN)

A 6 foot point guard at Cretin Derham Hall high school, Holloman has been receiving major interest. Along with the Cyclones, he has heard from Michigan State, Arkansas, Minnesota, Baylor, Nebraska, Ohio State and more. Holloman also played in the Nike EYBL league and has experience against top competition.



Tarris Reed-F (Saint Louis, MO)

Reed, a 6-7 forward at Chaminade Prep School is another player the Cyclones have reached out to. Reed has offers from Missouri, Xavier, Kansas State and Nebraska. He also has interest from Purdue, Creighton and others to go along with the Cyclone’s interest.
