10. Tarique Milton-WR
Tarique Milton has proven to be a star wide receiver for the Cyclones. He totaled 722 receiving yards for the Cyclones, falling right behind Deshaunte Jones for the team lead for the Cyclones during the 2019 season. He also added 3 receiving touchdowns during the 2019 season. Milton’s most productive career game was against Iowa this latest season where he totaled 144 yards and a touchdown. The Florida native increased his receiving productivity by over 300 yards from the 2018 to 2019 seasons, and looks to make another jump as he is projected to be ISU’s number one wide receiver this year, followed by honorable mention Sean Shaw Jr. He will most likely also handle punt return duties for the Cyclones again this upcoming season, a position where he was nominated as Third-Team All-Big 12. Fun Fact: Milton also attended the same high school as Iowa State standout Wide Receiver Quentin Bundrage(via Cyclones.com)
9. Collin Newell- OL
Newell, an offensive lineman from Ames, Iowa, was ranked as a 3 star coming out of high school. The 10th ranked player in Iowa also received offers from Iowa, Colorado State and others. Colin Newell was a big piece of ISU’s offensive line during the 2018 season, starting 12 out of 13 games for the Cyclones in an offensive breakthrough season for the Cyclones. Injury struggles hurt Newell’s 2019 season, where he only started two games due to a knee injury. The Ames native looks to lead the new look offensive line and has already been named to the Rimington Award watch list, which goes to the best center in the nation. He was also named ISU’s scout team player of the year during his redshirt 2017 season. He will be the centerpiece for the Cyclone’s offensive line this season.
8. O’Rien Vance-LB
Outside Linebacker O’Rien Vance was the 507th ranked player in the Class of 2017 and the George Washington High School product was also ranked as the 4th best player in Iowa from the class. Vance redshirted his initial college season in 2017, before appearing in 11 games in 2018. During his limited snaps in 2018, Vance recorded 24 tackles along with a sack and a half. In 2019, he had a breakout first few games with over 5 sacks in the first 5 games of the season. He appeared in every game for the Cyclones, but injury slowed him down towards the end of the season. However, he still was honorable mention All-Big 12 and totaled 66 tackles. He also finished as one of the Big 12 leaders in sacks, totaling 6.5 tackles. Vance should once again be one of the top pass rushers in the Big 12 and lead the Cyclones pass rush from the linebacker position.
