Two Cyclones on ESPN's top 100 College Football Players of 2022

Both Will McDonald IV and Xavier Hutchinson were listed on ESPN's top 100 players of the 2022 college football season.

Iowa State's best pass rusher of all time, Will McDonald IV breaks the top half of the list. The Wisconsin product decided to return to Iowa State instead of entering the NFL Draft to sharpen up his game. Many experts have Will in their first round mock drafts for the 2023 NFL Draft. McDonald had a stellar year last year, registering 36 total tackles to go along with 11.5 sacks and five forced fumbles. Xavier Hutchinson returns as one of the best wide receivers in the country to aid Hunter Dekkers. Xavier had nearly 1000 yards and 5 touchdowns last year for the Cyclones. The year before, Hutchinson had 771 receiving yards to go along with 4 touchdowns for the Cyclones.
