Where Are They Now?-DeAndre Kane

DeAndre Kane was the leader of the 2013-2014 Iowa State Basketball team who appeared in the Sweet Sixteen, thanks to his heroic game winning shot to beat North Carolina in the round of 32.

Kane was only at ISU for that one season, but had a huge impact. The transfer from Marshall contributed 17 PPG to go along with nearly 7 RPG and 6 APG. Before his time at ISU, he earned multiple Conference USA Awards. He also earned a third team All-American selection after his season at ISU.

After his collegiate career, Kane went undrafted in the 2014 NBA Draft and after some interest from NBA teams, he decided to play overseas. Kane played in Russia, Belgium, Germany and Spain before finding a home with Maccabi Tel Aviv in 2017. Here, Kane become a Israeli League Cup Winner and a 2x Israeli League Champion. In 2020, DeAndre moved on and has both played with Mega Bemax in Serbia and Peristeri In Greece.

The 6-5 Guard has also played in “The Basketball Tournament” and has become a 3x Champion of the 2 million dollar prize split between the participants. He has averaged atleast 6 PPG and 3 RPG in allof the TBT tournaments. He will be once again competing for overseas elite in the TBT Tournament in 2020, which kicks off on July 5th.
