Melvin Ejim was one of the best Iowa State Cyclone Basketball players ever, putting up solid stats for all four seasons he played for ISU. Ejim’s best season came during his senior campaign where he averaged nearly 18 PPG and 8.5 RPG. These performances led to Ejim earning the Big 12 Player of the Year Award during the 2013-14 Season.

After his college career, Ejim played for the San Antonio Spurs in the NBA summer league after going undrafted. Later that season, Ejim continued his professional career in Italy with Virtus Roma, averaging around 8 PPG and 6.3 RPG. The next season, he played with the Orlando Magic in the summer league and impressed during the summer, leading to getting signed by the Magic for a short stint. Later that season, he signed with the BayHawks in the NBA G-League. He then returned back to Italy, where he averaged 9 PPG for Reyer Venezia. In 2018 and 2019, he played in Russia for UNICS and averaged close to double digits during both seasons. Later in 2019, he signed for Unicaja in Spain where he plays today. Ejim has also played for both Nigeria and Canada’s national team. He won a bronze and a silver medal with Canada in 2015.
